On February 16, 2017, Reinvestment Partners hosted The Future of Banking in Rural North Carolina, a symposium to examine economic and banking trends in rural North Carolina and how they affect bank branch locations. Industry leaders from across the nation came together to discuss current challenges and collaborate on solutions.

Bank branches are critical to delivering financial services to individuals and businesses.  As banks continue to consolidate and technology plays a bigger role in financial services, many branches are closing.  Some have dramatic impact on a local community, particularly in rural and low-income neighborhoods.  The resources below address the challenge of when the last bank leaves town.
